Cromer Road Primary School

Year 1

Dear Parents/Carers

We hope that you had a wonderful Easter break and that the children are feeling refreshed and ready for another busy term in Year 1!

The Year 1 team are really excited to get started with all of the wonderful learning that will take place this half term. In English we will start by writing our very own 'Tongue Twister' Poems that we will make into a class book. Then we will be looking at two very exciting books, 'The Adventures of Egg Box Dragon' written by Richard Adams and 'The Great Big Body Book' by Mary Hoffman. In maths we will focus on multiplication and division by making groups and by sharing equally. Later in the term we will work on fractions, finding halves and quarters of shapes, objects and quantities. We will then focus our attention onto geometry and will learn about position and direction.

Below you will find information on what we will be covering this half term, including our projects. Please have a look at the Home Learning Grid to find this half term's homework.

This half term, our focus school value will be "Curiosity'.
