Attendance
Good attendance is vital to ensure children make progress with their learning and reach their full potential.
The national expectation for all children is 97% attendance.
We are posting attendance figures for each year group on the home page of the school website each week now. Our weekly target is to have 97% attendance in every class and we are monitoring the attendance of all pupils closely so that children do not miss out on vital learning. If your child’s current attendance is below 90%, which is classed as persistent absence, you will receive an attendance concern letter and we will continue to monitor your child’s attendance closely. If you need to request leave of absence for exceptional circumstances then please complete the form, at least 2 weeks in advance. Please ensure that travel arrangements do not mean that your child misses the beginning or the end of term as this absence will not be authorised. Please also ensure that your child comes to school on time so that they do not miss learning time.
Start of the day
School gates will open at 8:40am and you should take your child straight to their classroom.
Gates will close at 8:50am and registers will be taken. If you arrive once the gates are shut you should bring your child to the school office where they will be marked as late. Children arriving after 9:15 am will be marked as an unauthorised absence for the morning session , which will count towards your child’s overall attendance figure.
End of the day
The school day ends at 3.15 pm.
Please try to avoid being late as even a few minutes can be distressing for your child/ren. If you know that you will be delayed, please telephone the school office on 020 8449 3492, to inform them of your expected arrival time.
If someone different than usual will be collecting your child/ren, please inform the class teacher. We should always know the name of the person who will be collecting your child/ren.
Please note that children should always be collected by an adult. Only children in Year 5 & 6 may walk home alone if written permission is given to the school.
